Pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen, whose song “Call Me Maybe” was among the top hits of 2012, announced on Tuesday that she will not participate in the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree scheduled for this summer due to the organization’s policy on gay members.

Jepsen made the announcement on her official Twitter feed:

The 27-year-old Canadian singer was originally slated to perform at the event, scheduled to be held July 15-24 in Mount Hope, W. Va., along with the band Train. But on Monday, Train pulled out of the event, also citing the group’s ban on openly gay members. The Boy Scouts of America is considering lifting the ban, but last month the organization’s board delayed a final decision.
