Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) thanked Vice President Joe Biden for “a lifetime of public service and for all that he has done for our nation” after the veep announced he will not mount a third presidential run on Wednesday.
Here’s Sanders’ full statement:
Joe Biden, a good friend, has made the decision that he feels is best for himself, his family and the country. I thank the Vice President for a lifetime of public service and for all that he has done for our nation. I look forward to continuing to work with him to address the major crises we face. He understands the need to rebuild the middle class; and to address income and wealth inequality, a corrupt campaign finance system, climate change, racial justice, immigration reform and the need for publicly-funded higher education.
And a pony. We should all have a pony.
Class act.
Jesus, that statement sounds like the tribute they give those old guys who get consolation Oscars (because they never won for an actual movie), and then six months later you hear they croaked in a nursing home in Petaluma.
Or is Sanders doing a Larry David bit now?
Now was that Larry David being a suck-up or was it Bernie? I mean, geez. No wonder you’re dropping in the polls.
When you thank someone for a “lifetime of service” doesn’t that mean they are retiring or have died?
