Dr. Ben Carson has God on his side. Or, at least, the Almighty’s fingers.

In an interview on Thursday with Pat Robertson’s Christian Broadcasting Network, Carson said he felt the hand of the Lord pushing him toward the White House.

“Has He grabbed you by the collar yet?” host David Brody asked.

“I feel fingers,” Carson said. “But, um, you know… It’s mostly me.”

“I have a surgical personality which says, ‘always look before you leap and don’t leap before you have to’,” he added.

The former pediatric neurosurgeon went on to say there was “a good chance” he’d hit the campaign trail for 2016.

As Mediaite’s Andrew Kirell pointed out, Carson’s remarks on the deity’s digits are the latest in a series of moves signaling his interest in high office, including a TV special that aired on 30 channels across the country.

Fox News recently ended its relationship with Carson, who had previously served as a contributor, following speculation about his potential candidacy.
