Veteran newscaster Barbara Walters will retire next summer, ABC News reported late Sunday.
Her retirement will cap a career that saw her host a pair flagship ABC programs, “The View” and “20/20,” and land a number of high-profile interviews for the network.
Walters will make an official announcement on Monday’s broadcast of “The View.” According to ABC’s report, Walters will continue her normal duties for the network — including hosting “The View” and her annual Oscars special — until next summer.
