AZ Gov Says He’ll Wait To Name McCain Successor Until After Burial

Arizona’s Republican Gov. Doug Ducey’s spokesman said Sunday that the governor will not be making any announcements about the late Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) replacement in the Senate until after McCain is buried. State law requires the governor to name an appointee of the same political party who will serve until the next general election in 2020.

  1. Can these people be anything other than dickish? Not a real question.

  2. WSJ has a piece up handicapping various contenders. Surprisingly, his daughter Meghan not among them.

What does state law say about a case like this, where that party no longer exists?

  4. Now one more vote for Kavanaugh. I was listening to Slate’s political gabfest yesterday and John Dickerson reminded everyone of how Ted Kennedy BLASTED Bork’s nomination immediately - and painted a very detailed and dire picture of what America would look with him on the court as the swing vote, like Kavanaugh would be. Where is any Democrat doing that? Any of the 25 who want to run in 2020? Maybe someone has done this and it’s been missed in the onslaught of moron news …

It sure would be a good way to pick up the liberal gauntlet.

  5. So I take it this Gov is as douchey as his name, his wiki bio and that shit smug grin he wears?
