Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) said Sunday that it’s time for Congress to “go back to the drawing board” on health care reform and pass bipartisan legislation that addresses the country’s health care system.

“It’s time for a time out, which I’ve been calling for,” Ayotte said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Ayotte said that Democrats obsession with making this law work is hurting the country.

“They have been so stuck on this law and trying to implement it no matter what the cost,” she said.

Ayotte implied that if Congress had passed a biparitsan bill, the health care law would be more effective.

“It was passed on purely partisan lines,” Ayotte said. “That’s what you get when you try to push it through.”
