Taiwanese computer-maker Acer’s president Jim Wong told Bloomberg on Sunday that Acer’s C7 Chromebook, a $199 notebook running Google’s Chrome operating system, accounted for 5 to 10 percent of Acer’s U.S. shipments since its release in November. Meanwhile, Wong said that “Windows 8 itself is still not successful,” but did not provide figures on how many Microsoft Windows 8 Acer computers it shipped over the same period. Most of Acer’s total lineup for the U.S. is made up of Windows computers.
