Less than a week after House Jan. 6 Committee’s first blockbuster public hearing on Thursday, the panel is set to hold its second hearing around 10:45 a.m. ET today.

Here’s who we’re hearing from today:
  • Byung J. Pak, the former U.S. attorney in Atlanta who resigned under pressure from Trump.
  • Chris Stirewalt, the former Fox News political editor who was fired after he called Arizona for Joe Biden on election night, a call that enraged Trump.
  • Ben Ginsberg, a conservative election attorney who’s spoken out against Trump and his goons’ lies about voter fraud and who’s urged Republicans to update the Electoral Count Act to prevent Trump from exploiting its weaknesses to overturn an election in the future.
  • Al Schmidt, the former city commissioner of Philadelphia who served as the only Republican on the city’s election board. He refuted Trump’s claims that the 2020 election in Philly was tainted by voter fraud.

  1. Former Trump 2020 campaign manager Bill Stepien backed out of testifying today due to a family emergency, according to MSNBC.

  2. To get us all started this morning and while we wait for the now delayed hearing, here’s something totally O/T.

My daughter went and saw the 50th Anniversary showing of Pink Flamingos last night in NYC. It was her first time, and like a good girl or any decent person, she was horrified and disgusted.

BUT! She also got to meet and talk to John Waters! She said that he was sweet and funny.

Plus, believe it or not, Pink Flamingos is now a part of the Criterion Collection

  3. I knew something was going to happen with this guy. And now he doesn’t even read the statement?

Chances are he didn’t write it either.

His family commitment is he wants to see them again.

  4. I’m fine with the impressions given. Mob Boss all the way with TrumpWorld.

The rub is that genuine emergencies (and this may well be one) cannot avoid the Trump stench.
