Federal prosecutors hit Rep. George Santos (R-NY), the freshman congressman who’d become mired in scandal when much of his resume was exposed as fraudulent, with a 13 count indictment, including seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives.

He was arrested Wednesday morning, and appeared in court Wednesday afternoon, entering a plea of “not guilty.”

Let’s never forget that Republican House leadership was warned about Santos and that they seated him anyway. George Santos is Kevin McCarthy’s problem.

  3. HaHa Nelson style. One less vote. How long does this all take to throw him into prison?

  4. And it is a good start.
May be more will be found?

  5. So, is this going to affect his re-election campaign? Also, what about those lifetime benefits he was trying to get after retiring from Congress? Oh, wait… he won’t need those in prison since free food, lodging and healthcare are part of the deal there.

    Never mind.
