In case the poll numbers weren’t enough to prove it, there’s more evidence today Jon Huntsman’s pro-science agenda is not sitting well with conservative-leaning voters in the South Carolina primary.

Gov. Nikki Haley (R) — a woman who any presidential candidate running in South Carolina would love to have by his or her side — hasn’t chosen which candidate to support yet. But she has picked one she definitely won’t be supporting.

“Naturally, I am going to go with someone that philosophically I agree with,” Haley told Laura Ingraham Thursday, according to CNN, “and Jon Huntsman is not it.”

More:

“If you talk to him about things he knows about, China and the economy, yes, that’s great stuff,” Haley said Thursday. “But what I really want to get is a strong conservative that understands jobs and the economy matter, and it’s not what we say, it’s what we do, and how are we going to fix this?”

Polls show Republican primary voters in South Carolina feel similar to their governor. A Magellan Strategies poll released late last month showed Huntsman pulling just 2% support against the field of contenders. Just 9% had a favorable view of Huntsman, while 44% had an unfavorable view of of the former Utah governor.
