Vice President Biden told the panel at The View Tuesday he had a “visceral reaction” to members of the audience at last Thursday’s Republican presidential debate booing a gay active-duty soldier in Iraq who sent in a YouTube question about Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
Biden — whose son served for a year in Iraq — said the soldiers he knows don’t care about the sexual orientation of their comrades. Yesterday, President Obama seized on the moment as well, calling it indicative of a GOP that “is not reflective of who we are” as Americans.
Biden went farther than that.
“This kid risked his life. This kid is there [in Iraq] for a year and I, quite frankly, I thought it was reprehensible,” Biden said.
