Now that Mitt Romney is the all-but-certain Republican presidential nominee, it’s time to speculate whom he will pick as his running mate.
“Who can appeal to the conservative base without being more interesting than he is?” Colbert asked on Wednesday. A headless Jos. A. Bank mannequin? A rice cake? A heel of white bread? “No, they’re all too fascinating,” Colbert said. “Who can Mitt Romney find who won’t overshadow him?”
“Wait, that’s it! Romeny/Romney’s shadow 2012,” Colbert said. “The best part is, it will change positions every time he does.”
