For all the ups and downs, look at this chart to see the basic stability of the presidential race.

Here’s the trend chart from TPM Polltracker, zoomed in to see the period from the beginning of April until now (clearly the race title to see the full chart and listings).

The Indiana primary was on May 3rd, generally accepted as the date when Trump clinched the Republican nomination. It was also a period when the bitterness of the Democratic race was intensifying. Trump momentarily drew almost even with Clinton and then fell back. You could pinpoint the Judge Curiel implosion and various other key moments. But the general picture is simply the stability of the race looked at over time.
