Members of the House get creative in these situations. TPM Reader JR called Rep. Rodney Davis’s office to see if he still supported the immediate release of the full Mueller Report. Davis’s office refused to answer whether Davis had changed his position because there’s no second resolution, which of course makes no sense.

I just called his Washington office. I said to the man who answered the phone that Rodney Davis had voted for the release of the report. The staffer replied that, yes, Rodney Davis voted to release the report, but that there was no current action on the House floor, so nothing was happening. I asked the staffer if I was to understand that Rodney Davis’s position had changed, or stayed the same? He said no comment.

It would seem that one strategy, then, is to hide behind the lack of a current bill in the House. I assume that people interested in good government are firing one up. But for now, Davis is seeking cover behind the idea that there’s no bill.

You can play at home too. See how here.
