Two lawyer/investigators on the House Ethics Committee were suspended last month, after the chief committee investigator tried to fire them. This happened on the same day the committee announced an indefinite delay in the hearing into the conduct Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA). Politico broke the story and here’s our follow-up report.
I’ve heard a couple accounts of what happened here. And we’re actively trying to nail down just what happened. But I’m pretty confident there’s a big story here. We just don’t know what it is yet.
