I am attaching a “signed” photo I got last weekend, in a pathetically pandering attempt to get me to contribute.
As a secular progressive, I am delighted that Ben considers me a true patriot and inspiration. And as you have suggested, his money-raising operation is more likely an end in itself than a means to an end.

It was on fairly heavy stock, 8 x 10. Came in a “do not bend” envelope. I have never contributed to any R candidate, and I am on a few conservative lists for some reason (I briefly subscribed to “The Economist”.) Years ago I got a fundraising call which began “I am calling you from the outer room of Newt Gingrich’s office”, and I just couldn’t stop laughing.
