The New Jersey men arrested over the weekend at JFK, allegedly on their way to Somalia to join the jihad, had no known ties to terrorist groups but were hoping if they just showed up they’d connect with terrorists. They’d tried a similar tactic in 2007, the feds say, showing up in Jordan but finding no takers for their services and left disappointed.
