Sad trivia. But some will remember that this was not Sen. Stevens (R) first small plane crash in Alaska. 32 years ago, in 1978, Stevens and his then-wife Ann Stevens were on a small charter plane which crashed during an attempted landing. Ted Stevens was injured, but survived. Ann Stevens died in the crash.
