It’s been a while since we checked in on Rudy Giuliani’s long twilight struggle against the specter of his own irrelevance. I’d noticed that Giuliani had just endorsed one-time opponent Mitt Romney. Not surprising. But now it turns out that Giuliani has also recently endorsed the Serb nationalists ahead of next month’s election and plans to become their paid advisor if they unseat the current ruling party. Which is kind of surprising.
Specifically, Giuliani has contracted with the Serbian Progressive Party to provide urban development consulting. He advises, he said, “on how to improve and help create economic development here in Belgrade the way I did in New York and the way I’ve done in a number of other cities.”
