Could Rubes Rise from the Dead on the Third State?

It’s genuinely worrisome. Could Marco Rubio make a come-from-behind showing in South Carolina? As I said a few days ago, establishment Republicans won’t let Marco Rubio go down, no matter how many times he stumbles.

Here’s the current trend chart for South Carolina.

The trend is relies somewhat on recent polls from lesser known pollsters. But the overall trend is definitely there. It definitely seems like Rubes has a strong shot at second place and conceivably could even challenge Trump for first after more or less the entire South Carolina Republican establishment lined up behind him mid-last week.

The GOP and the country could soon face a brutal choice between a canny, racist loudmouth and a pre-programmed pretty-boy only barely out of beta-testing.
