We’ve got a primary election today in New York City. And I’ve got a confession.
I’d been so focused on the topline races – mainly the Mayor’s and comptroller’s races – that I got into the voting booth and realized that I didn’t know anything about any of the candidates in some fairly important races. Like Manhattan Borough President for one – basically the king of our borough of Manhattan. So on that and a few other races, I simply didn’t vote.
Basically, this is my fault for not informing myself about a pretty important local office. But I’m curious whether if I didn’t hear much about that race or like the race for Public Advocate, how many other people did?
On the big races I knew who I would vote for for Mayor and City Council. But I’d never really decided on Comptroller (which is actually a really important position). But when I got into the booth, the choice just seemed obvious.
