Bridge to the 19th Century

Actually, even back in the 19th Century this was a pretty archaic idea. There’s a difference between gold-backed currency and actual gold. Like we’ll only accept your taxes in physical gold coins. But Georgia State Rep. Bobby Franklin (R) has just introduced a bill in the state legislature mandating that Georgia only accept taxes in gold coins.
