Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) spent Sunday in Colorado in support of Jane Norton, the party favorite in the Senate primary who’s facing a tough challenge from Tea Party-friendly Ken Buck.

McCain appeared with Norton at a rally in her hometown of Grand Junction. The Grand Junction Sentinel reports that McCain attacked Buck on national security. Buck, McCain said, “has veered toward the isolationist and retreatist wing.”

“Republicans can take control (of Congress) in January, and this will be one of our leaders,” McCain said of Norton.

The primary is tomorrow. The TPM Poll Average for this race shows Buck leading Norton, the one-time frontrunner, 44.5%-37.3%.
