Turn your clocks back to 2009: Sarah Palin’s presidential ambitions are about to become the centerpiece of 2012 chatter once again.

RealClearPolitics’ Scott Conroy — who broke the news this week of the upcoming and extremely favorable documentary about Palin — reports that Palin is about to hit the national stage hard.

Palin will kick off a national bus tour in D.C. Sunday, Conroy reports. The occasion? Rolling Thunder, the annual motorcycle rally best known for its abundance of POW/MIA flags.

No word yet on whether the tour will include a presidential announcement. But either way, expect the entire Republican presidential discussion to follow Palin’s bus.

From Conroy:

Details were still being hammered out on Thursday, but sources indicated to RCP that the bus tour is expected to last several weeks and will be divided into separate geographical stretches for logistical reasons.

Members of Palin’s immediate family are expected to join her on the trip, which will eventually take her through key early-voting states.

Team Palin says the tour “will proceed north up the east coast” following the kickoff in DC.
