Certain works of art are indelibly marked by the political atmosphere of their time. Picasso’s Guernica. Warhol’s Mao. And now, the Florida GOP’s Charlie Crist.
But unlike the first two, the last can be yours for just a few hundred dollars. The Florida GOP has put a portrait of the Governor, Senate candidate, and erstwhile Republican on Ebay, in an attempt to recoup some of the donor money spent to commission the piece.
Crist abandoned the GOP last week to run as an independent in his state’s Senate race. He trailed Republican Marco Rubio badly in the GOP primary, but polls show he may fare much better as an independent in a three-way race.
