CNN Regrets Playing ‘Stupid Girls’ Ahead Of Palin Segment

From the department of poor music coordination: CNN says it regrets playing the Pink song “Stupid Girls” ahead of a segment on Sarah Palin’s recent visit to Chick-fi-A.

“The music selection was a poor choice and was not intended to be linked to any news story,” CNN spokeswoman Bridget Leininger told TPM. “We regret any perception that they were planned together.” The Hollywood Reporter first reported the statement.

The fast food chicken chain has come under fire recently over its opposition to same-sex marriage. The company’s president, Dan Cathy, said in a recent interview: “I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.”
