As Tierney Sneed noted Tuesday, House Minority Leader Steny Hoyer slammed Alabama for closing 31 DMV offices when the state requires a photo ID to vote and called for a restoration of the Voting Rights Act, which was gutted by the Supreme Court in 2013. A Democratic bill that would do that, the Voting Rights Advancement Act, recently got the support of Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski, the first GOP senator to cosponsor it.

From a TPM Prime member: “I think there’s a huge double standard that Hillary Clinton is held to, where the rule is that everything about Hillary must be presented in the least favorable light as possible. Hell, I think even without the Dowd Story, if Hillary Clinton was just floating outside the field but refusing to commit on whether she’d enter or not, she’d be getting a lot more negative press than Joe Biden has for it. I don’t even have to wonder, I already know it happened, and that was when the press was upset at Hillary for not entering the race in February of 2013!”
