Jon Stewart on Wednesday asked the all-important question: Who’s funnier, President Obama or Mitt Romney?
Thankfully, Stewart is a comedy professional who can shine some light on the subject. Let’s get to it. “It’s not a fair comparison,” Stewart said. “They’re at different points in their careers.” Obama is working the big rooms, where it’s easy to get the big response. Romney, on the other hand, is slugging it out in the smaller venues.
Romney’s waitress-grabbing-his-backside bit was a “solid,” Stewart admitted, albeit “Grade A uncle humor.”
“In the final analysis, I’m going to give the edge in being funny to Mitt Romney,” Stewart concluded. “For him, comedy’s not just a pastime, it’s a passion.”
