Minutes after oral arguments on California’s Prop 8 came to an end, TPM caught up with Ted Olson hustling out of the Supreme Court.
Olson is the Republican super lawyer who’s also one of the country’s leading legal advocate for marriage equality. Olson couldn’t stop for a lengthy interview, but I asked him how he felt the arguments went in the broadest sense.
His optimistic reply:
“We’re very energized by the fact that they asked good questions and they’re engaged and they read their briefs.”
Before he could answer specific questions about his interactions with the justices, his entourage hurried him into a waiting vehicle.
