Have you ever wondered who would win if Rob Ford were to somehow take on Sarah Palin in an epic, yet totally unconstitutional presidential race? Of course you have.
Fortunately, the folks over at PPP put this wacky question to the test and shared the results with TPM.
And in what would be an election for the ages, Palin emerges on top with 38 percent support while 26 percent of registered American voters prefer the crack-smoking mayor of Toronto who, barring a landmark change to the Constitution, can never be president.
Thirty-five percent said they weren’t sure who they’d support in the impossible presidential race.
The poll provided more evidence that Democrats never want to see Palin make it to the White House. While 43 percent of Democrats said they aren’t sure who they’d support in such a race, 47 percent said they’d vote for Ford who, again, can never be president. Only nine percent of Democrats said they would vote for Palin.
But Republicans would still prefer the Alaska tea partier over the Canadian conservative: 75 percent of GOP voters said they would vote for Palin, while just six percent said they would back Ford.
