If Sean Hannity left New York, who would be left for the state to tax?

That’s the question Jon Stewart posed on Monday’s “Daily Show.” The Fox News host threatened to move to either Florida or Texas after Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) declared that “extreme conservatives” weren’t welcome in the state. He later walked that threat back, but Stewart still wasn’t about to let a conservative state treasure like Hannity slip away.

So the comedian trotted out a diverse group of New Yorkers to beg Hannity not to leave: a halal cart worker, a taxi driver, young black men, actor Nathan Lane and “Project Runway” host Tim Gunn.

All these quintessential New York City types were willing to sacrifice to keep Hannity in their city. The taxi driver offered to drop his foreign accent, a gay couple promised they’d marry women, and the black men offered to cut the hoods off their sweatshirts.

“That Keystone pipeline? We’ll run it through Central Park, no f*cking problem,” a construction worker offered.

In case all those offers weren’t enticing enough for the Fox News host, Stewart got the cast of “Jersey Boys” to sing an ode to Hannity: “Who would we tax until his money was gone, who would we impose socialism upon?”
