The first African-American president of the United States commemorated the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington where Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his monumental “I Have A Dream” speech on Wednesday, hailing one of his heroes how “he gave mighty voice to the quiet hopes of millions.”
“His words belong to the ages, possessing a power and prophesy unmatched in our time,” Barack Obama told thousands gathered on the national mall at the steps of the Linoln Memorial.
“Because they marched, America changed for you and for me,” he added.
