Former Sen. Bob Kerrey (D-NE) is in discussions to land a post at the State Department, Politico reported Friday.
Kerrey, a friend and former colleague of Secretary of State John Kerry, confirmed that he’s had “conversations” about the capacity, but wouldn’t divulge what it would entail. He indicated that it would not be full-time.
“I wouldn’t actually use the word ‘job,’” Kerrey said.
Kerrey, a former governor of Nebraska, lost in an open U.S. Senate race last year to Sen. Deb Fischer (R-NE).
