The Republican National Committee unanimously passed a resolution barring NBC and CNN from hosting 2016 GOP presidential debates. RNC spokesman Sean Spicer hailed the vote, conducted at the committee’s summer meeting in Boston on Twitter.

RNC chairman Reince Priebus issued an ultimatum to NBC and CNN earlier this month to drop planned productions about Hillary Clinton or surrender the right to broadcast the party’s next round of presidential debates. NBC is planning to air a miniseries with Oscar nominee Diane Lane in the role of Clinton, while CNN has a planned documentary about the former secretary of state.
Priebus told the networks that they had until Aug. 14 to pull the productions.
