Obama: Violence After Zimmerman Verdict Would Dishonor Trayvon Martin

President Barack Obama on Thursday weighed in on the not guilty verdict of George Zimmerman, who shot and killed Trayvon Martin in Florida, urging Americans to resist any displays of violence.

“If I see any violence I will remind folks that that dishonors what happened to Trayvon Martin and his family,” he said in the White House briefing room.

A vigil for the memory of Trayvon Martin is scheduled to take place in 100 U.S. cities tomorrow.
