Malala Yousufzai, the 16-year-old Pakistani girl who was shot in the head by the Taliban last year, drew standing ovations at her first public address in front of the UN Youth Assembly in New York on Friday.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and Special Envoy for Global Education Gordon Brown gave introductory remarks lauding the young activist.
