Egypt’s army has outlined a draft political roadmap to transition from President Mohammed Morsi’s government that would include a suspension of the country’s constitution and a dissolution of the Islamist-led Parliament, Reuters reported Tuesday.

Military sources said that the roadmap will be pursued if Morsi and the liberal opposition fail to strike an agreement by Wednesday to end the political crisis. The sources told Reuters that the plan is still being fleshed out.

Opponents to the Morsi regime have flooded Cairo’s Tahrir Square, creating a stunning scene and applying pressure on the president. A pair of Morsi spokesmen stepped down on Tuesday.

Morsi on Tuesday rejected the military’s ultimatum to step down.
