Peter King: Obama Is ‘Missing In Action’ On Policies With Russia Amid NSA Leaks

Rep. Peter King (R-NY) criticized Obama’s policies towards Russia on Monday, calling the President “missing in action” in light of Vladimir Putin’s refusal to hand over Edward Snowden, the source of National Security Agency leaks.

“If President Obama—if he had addressed the American people on the importance, for instance, of why he believes the NSA program is so important, that’s also sending a message to Russia,” King said in an interview on Fox’s “America’s Newsroom.” “And by going against that, by, for instance, not turning Snowden over to us, Russia is going against our vital national interests. The president seems to be missing in action.”

King was responding to Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) criticism of the situation on “Fox News Sunday.” King also took Obama to task for trivializing Snowden’s role in the NSA leaks, which King said need to be dealt with in a serious manner. “It’s the schizophrenic policies that so often he has had throughout his administration,” King said.
