NRA To Release Report Tuesday On Proposal To Put Guns In Schools

The National Rifle Association on Tuesday is expected to release a report on the gun lobby’s proposal to put an armed guard in every school in America, CNN reported Monday. The initiative is called the National School Shield Program, and was announced shortly after the December massacre in Newtown, Conn. From CNN’s report:

Law enforcement officials will find training recommendations to prepare the armed guards who the organization believes should be available to schools.

State and local officials will find guidelines on how to alter their ordinances to permit the armed guards.

The NRA is also expected to give legislative proposals to Congress, according to the report.
