U.S. Lawmakers Visit Cuba To Urge Release Of Jailed American

A group of U.S. lawmakers traveled to Cuba on Monday to call for the release of jailed American Alan Gross, the Associated Press reported

Gross is serving a 15-year term for bringing satellite phones and other communications equipment to Cuba, according to the AP. 

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) is leading the group, which includes Sens. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Reps. Jim McGovern (D-MA) and Chris Van Hollen (D-MD).
