The largest outdoor gun show in Pennsylvania has been postponed following a week of protests against Reed Exibitions, the organization that runs the show, because of their decision to ban the display of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, the Patriot-News reports.
“It is unfortunate that in the current emotionally charged atmosphere this celebratory event has become overshadowed by a decision that directly affected a small percentage of more than 1,000 exhibits showcasing products and services for those interested in hunting and fishing,” reads a statement from Reed Exibitions.
The Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show was expected to bring in $44 million in travel and supplies to the area, according to the Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors Bureau.
