The chairman of the Presidential Inaugural Committee, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), kicked off inaugural festivities on Monday for President Obama’s second term.
Schumer welcomed the hundreds of thousands of people gathered before the U.S. Capitol huddled in the cold, thanking the nation’s troops, and hailing the day as an example of one of the greatest traditions of democracy.
“It is time to renew our faith in the future of America,” Schumer said.
