NBC sportscaster Bob Costas spoke about gun control during his football coverage on Sunday night, following the murder-suicide of Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher. His comments, which he made by quoting sportswriter Jason Whitlock, have stoked anger on the right.
“If Jovan Belcher didn’t possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today,” Costas said, quoting Whitlock.
