NASA’s Mars Curiosity Rover hasn’t detected any evidence of organic molecules on the surface of the Red Planet after conducting its first soil sample analysis, tweeted the rover’s official Twitter account on Thursday. Nonetheless NASA will hold a semi-regular briefing on Monday at 12 p.m. EST to discuss the latest rover findings. The news is likely to come as a disappointement to those who latched onto a rumor fueled by a November 20 NPR report that the Curiosity rover had uncovered something “for the history books” in its first soil analysis, as NPR quoted one NASA scientist.
