In response to initial reports that the Department of Labor might have to delay release of Friday’s monthly employment report because of Hurricane Sandy, DOL spokesman Carl Fillichio sends over the following statement.
“The employees at the Bureau of Labor Statistics are working hard to ensure the timely release of employment data on Friday, November 2. It is our intention that Friday will be business as usual regarding the October Employment Situation Report.”
The initial reports briefly fueled speculation that the jobs data, good or bad, wouldn’t be revealed until after the election.
