Republican candidate Mitt Romney leads President Obama in the latest national tracking poll from Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling. Romney gets 49 percent to Obama’s 47 percent, and both men have a problem with their base — 16 percent of Democrats say they are voting for Romney and 11 percent of Republicans say they are in Obama’s column. Romney takes independent voters 50 percent to 41 percent.
