Obama Raises $114 Million In August, Bringing In More Than Romney

The Obama campaign raised $114 million in August, bringing in more than the Romney for the first time since April. The campaign announced the August numbers over Twitter. 

The campaign and combined committees raised over $114 million in August to the Romney campaign’s $111 million.

August was the first month the Obama campaign brought in more than $100 million this cycle, while the Romney campaign has brought in over $100 million for the last three months. The Romney campaign hauled in $111 million in August. In July, the Obama campaign and related committees brought in $75 million. The campaign says 1,170,000 people gave money in last month, including 317,954 new donors this cycle, via CNN.  

No celebrating, because they’re going to have an even bigger September. But now we know we can match them, doing this our way.
