Report: Citing Leaks, Netanyahu Abruptly Ends Meeting On Iran

According to Reuters, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu abruptly ended a meeting on Iran with his national security cabinet on Wednesday, claiming that one of the members had leaked sensitive security details to the nation’s media. The unexpected moves comes one day after the Yedioth Ahronoth, the country’s largest newspaper, cited an unnamed source on the council claiming that Israel’s national intelligence agencies had given the 14-member group divergent views on Iran’s nuclear program.

“The security of the state and of its citizens depends on the ability to have confidential and in-depth discussions in the security cabinet. … Someone severely damaged the trust that Israel’s citizens put in this forum,” said Netanyahu. No investigations were announced, nor was a date given for the council’s next meeting.
