Vice President Joe Biden said that Americans are better off than they were four years ago at a Labor Day rally in Detroit hosted by the AFL-CIO. “America is better off today than they left us when they left,” Biden said, referring to when President Obama took office.
In the last 24 hours, Republicans have been pushing the question of whether Americans are better off and plan to emphasize that as a talking point during the Democratic convention this week.
“You wanna know whether we’re better off,” Biden asked the crowd. “Osama bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive,” Biden repeated three times.
