Republicans have managed to keep all their headline speakers and incorporate their Monday lineup into the following three days of the convention, top Romney aid Russ Schriefer told reporters on a conference call Sunday evening, after canceling the first day due to Tropical Storm Isaac. Only a few non-headline speakers were cut. In order to incorporate the changes, the convention will begin at 7 p.m. EDT, earlier than originally scheduled, but the primetime lineups for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday remain unchanged.
The convention will officially begin Monday when RNC Chairman Reince Priebus gavels in the convention — beginning a debt clock that will mark the amount of money added to the national debt over the course of the convention — and then gavel out to a recess until Tuesday.
Though the GOP did not rule out extending the convention to Friday, Republicans are planning on a three-day convention Tuesday – Thursday.
